BvF provided bridge inspection engineering services as an Assistant Team Leader for the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge approach structures. The inspection covered various components, including ramps, bridges, and storage structures. BvF inspected decks, structural framing, abutments, retaining walls, and all approach structures, as well as signs, utilities, and electrical equipment.

BvF was responsible for data collection, field notes, and preparation of inspection documentation in accordance with NYSDOT Bridge Inspection Manual requirements. This included narrative reports with repair recommendations, conceptual sketches, estimated construction costs, and repair prioritization.

In 2019, BvF also conducted Special Inspections, installing missing plates and updating the database with condition ratings based on the NYSDOT Rating System.
