As a DBE/MBE Subconsultant to a Comprehensive Preliminary & Final Engineering Design Services contract (AE 3038), BvF provided construction inspection services for this emergency contract, which involved the emergency replacement of portions of a bridge superstructure due to severe damage from a fire incident on June 17, 2020. The fire caused heat-related cracking and displacement of the concrete bridge deck, as well as deformation and cracking in the web and flanges of five out of six structural steel girders. The permanent replacement included a minimum of six 65-foot-long steel girders with a supporting concrete deck.
