BvF was responsible for performing hands-on inspections of 10 local bridges in Howard County and 15 bridges in Anne Arundel County. BvF’s technical responsibilities included collecting inventory data, conducting NBIS inspections, and preparing all necessary reports using SHA’s Bridge Structure Asset Management (SAM) system.
The scope of work for this project included performing detailed structure condition inspections, conducting load rating analyses, nondestructive testing, and preparing comprehensive structure condition inspection reports, which included all pertinent Structure Inventory and Appraisal data and element data.
BvF was also responsible for providing a narrative discussion summarizing the inspection findings, including evaluations of all structural elements, discussing the condition of stream channels and channel protections, and providing any recommended repairs, analyses, non-destructive or destructive evaluations, scour studies, inspection frequency changes, special inspection procedures, and monitoring schemes.
