bridge 1BVF Engineering, Inc. Bridge & Structures Group provides services that extend from feasibility assessment and conceptual planning through final design and construction engineering. Our team is skilled in the rehabilitation and design of slab, steel girder, steel truss, prestressed, segmental and precast concrete bridges, culverts and complex structures as well as all other structures incidental to a road system. Our engineers design cost-effective solutions for fender systems, high tower lighting foundations, sheet pile walls, retaining walls, transportation facilities, public structures, and buildings. Our staff is experienced in the evaluation of scour critical bridges and the design of scour countermeasures in accordance with HEC-18 and HEC-23, respectively.

BvF provides bridge inspection services in accordance with the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS). The primary responsibility of BvF’s bridge inspection personnel is to ensure public safety and confidence in our clients' bridges and to protect public investment in the infrastructure. Our staff has inspected hundreds of highway bridges, railroad bridges, and overhead and cantilevered sign structures. Our expertise includes bridges traversing waterways, railroads, and highways, and encompasses the following types of structures: simple-span, continuous-span, curved girder, complex truss, welded steel box beams and rigid frame superstructures made of steel, timber, aluminum, plain reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete and composite steel and concrete.5 We have also inspected precast and cast-in-place single and multiple cell culverts. We use the latest load rating and design computer software, such as BAR7, PS3, BOX 5 and ISDS/STAADIII.
