The project focuses on upgrading fueling systems and preventing environmental pollution at the Alexandria and Shady Grove Rail Yards. It includes the installation of Track Spill Collection Pan systems and Oil-Water Separators, as well as a new Aboveground Storage Tank (AST) system at the Alexandria Yard. Advanced fuel monitoring systems will be integrated with WMATA’s existing management systems. The $5.24 million project ensures compliance with environmental standards and modernizes the fueling infrastructure.
BvF Engineering manages the project schedule using Primavera P6, ensuring adherence to WMATA’s timelines. Responsibilities include developing the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), tracking milestones, and conducting Time Impact Analyses (TIA) for any delays or changes. BvF also prepares lookahead schedules and reviews shop drawings, ensuring that the project stays on track and is completed efficiently.
