BvF provided Electrical, Instrumentation & Control (I&C) inspection, and commissioning services for a $60 million project, which included significant upgrades and rehabilitation work on Gravity Thickeners and related systems, as well as improvements to the Primary Sludge Screening and Degritting Building.
BvF staff was responsible for reviewing contract documents and submittals from various vendors supplying equipment, as well as providing and reviewing responses to Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Construction (RFC). BvF also performed construction management and field inspections to support the installation of field instruments and electrical control systems, monitoring the performance of factory acceptance testing. Additionally, BvF supported the design, start-up, and commissioning of new process systems and the modification of existing process systems.
Under this BOA, BvF worked on two key projects:
- Gravity Thickener Upgrades Phase 2: The scope of work for project included recommissioning Gravity Thickeners 5 and 6, upgrading Gravity Thickeners 1 to 4 and 7 to 10, installing covers and ventilation systems, and performing associated work on pumps, piping, electrical, and instrumentation systems. The project also involved rehabilitating degritting equipment in the Primary Sludge Screening and Degritting Building, installing new degritter feed pumps, constructing scum screens, scum and grit dewatering, and transfer conveyors, along with related piping, controls, and electrical equipment. Further, it included demolishing heat exchanger process equipment and constructing a new Electrical Control Room within the Gravity Thickener Control Building.
- Reclaimed Final Effluent Pump Systems (RFEPS) Upgrades: This project involved replacing three high-pressure and three low-pressure Reclaimed Final Effluent Pumps with new vertical turbine pumps, replacing pump motors and variable frequency drives for each High- and Low-Pressure Pump, and performing demolition and modifications to the associated piping. The project also included miscellaneous repairs and upgrades, such as structural, electrical, Instrumentation & Control (I&C), and HVAC improvements.
