Upgrades to the Western Branch WWTP involved the design and construction of multiple process enhancements, including sludge thickening, raw sewage pumping, air and grit handling, and new ENR-related systems. These improvements were essential to extend the facility’s service life and ensure compliance with WSSC’s NPDES discharge requirements.

BVF Engineering delivered hands-on project engineering and inspection support during construction. Working closely with the Resident Engineer and Project Manager, BVF coordinated submittal and RFI reviews, managed a web-based document control platform, and supported field communication per Owner protocols. Additional responsibilities included contractor correspondence tracking, meeting documentation, invoice processing, redline as-builts, inspection support, and punch list coordination—ensuring timely and well-documented execution of complex facility upgrades.
