BvF Engineering, Inc. (BvF) was awarded a DBE Subconsultant role in a Joint Venture, providing construction management services, specifically focusing on construction scheduling and inspection, for a program involving multiple contracts aimed at rehabilitating and/or replacing water and sewer pipelines, pumping stations, and storage facilities.
BvF was responsible for monitoring and reviewing the baseline and monthly progress schedules using Primavera P6 software, along with payment applications. The company reviewed the Contractor’s work progress, comparing actual performances to the original plans and baseline schedules. They oversaw project schedule performance and collaborated with the Contractor to identify opportunities for schedule improvements. BvF also monitored cash flows and maximum drawdown schedules, estimated the time elements of change orders, and submitted analyses to the Construction Manager. They evaluated the Contractor’s Extension of Time requests and prepared recommendations for the Project Manager, Construction Manager, or Resident Engineer. Additionally, BvF prepared cost estimates for direct costs and/or time and assisted the Construction Manager in negotiations with the Contractor regarding proposed change orders.
