As a DBE/MBE Subconsultant for a Comprehensive Preliminary & Final Engineering Design Services contract, BvF conducted inspections and oversaw the replacement of the concrete median barrier along the I-895 corridor in Baltimore City and Anne Arundel County. The project included removing the existing barrier, constructing a new reinforced barrier, resurfacing pavement, and installing infrastructure for future traffic management systems, including conduit, hand boxes, and concrete foundations for dynamic message signs (DMS) and swift gates.
The scope of work included:
- Removal of the existing 32″ concrete median barrier.
- Construction of a new 42″ reinforced concrete barrier.
- Installation of new barriers at bridge piers.
- Pavement grinding, resurfacing, and marking.
- Conduit and hand box installation for future traffic systems.
- Concrete barrier modifications and installation of DMS foundations.
