BvF, as an MBE Subconsultant, provided CPM construction scheduling services using Primavera P6 for a $33 million project. Responsibilities included reviewing the design-build contract scope, setting up the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), creating the Baseline Cost-Loaded Construction Schedule, and preparing monthly progress schedules. BvF also developed Time Impact Analyses (TIA) for Change Order Requests.

The project, part of Metro’s Tunnel Ventilation Pilot Project, aimed to improve safety on the Red Line between Cleveland Park and Woodley Park stations. The scope included:

  • Installing a new tunnel ventilation system with fans and dampers.
  • Replacing electrical equipment at four AC Switchgear Rooms.
  • Installing fiber optic cable between the stations.
  • Providing electric sub-metering for circuits rated 150A and higher.

This work was part of a broader initiative to enhance tunnel safety following the 2015 smoke incident at L’Enfant Plaza, with continuous single tracking scheduled from July to September 2021 and four weekend shutdowns in spring 2022 for system installation and testing.
