BvF Engineering is providing construction management services for the Unity Reed Booster Pump Station upgrade for the Prince William County Service Authority. The goal is to increase the station’s pumping capacity from 18.4 MGD to 24.9 MGD to meet future demands through 2050.

Key upgrades include:

  • Replacing five pumps with 300-HP variable speed pumps
  • Expanding ductile iron piping and the station building
  • Installing a new PLC-based control system with SCADA integration
  • Adding a 1500 kW diesel generator and surge protection
  • HVAC system upgrades for optimal equipment conditions

BvF is responsible for scheduling, using Primavera P6 to track progress, analyze schedules, manage payment applications, monitor cash flows, and evaluate time impacts from change orders. BvF also provides recommendations for schedule improvements and Extension of Time requests.
